Short version: BestJson.Tools processes all data directly in your browser. We never receive, store, or transmit your JSON or any other input data.
1. Data You Enter Into Tools
Any data you paste, type, or drag-and-drop into any tool on BestJson.Tools is processed entirely within your browser using local JavaScript and Web Workers. This data is never transmitted to our servers, never stored in a database, and never logged. When you close the tab, the data is gone.
2. Shareable Links
Some tools (such as JSON Compare) allow you to generate a shareable link. These links encode your data as a compressed hash directly in the URL — the data exists only in the URL itself. No data is sent to our servers when you create or open a shareable link.
3. Local Storage & Session Storage
BestJson.Tools may store limited data in your browser's localStorage or
sessionStorage for convenience features such as:
- Your dark/light mode preference
- Comparison history (stored only on your device, never uploaded)
- The last active tab or view within a tool
This data stays entirely on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your
browser's site data for bestjson.tools.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, which tools are used most, what browsers are common, and general geographic distribution. Analytics data does not include your JSON content or any data you enter into tools. You can opt out using standard browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. What We Do Not Collect
- JSON content or any data you enter into any tool
- Files you drag and drop onto the page
- Shareable link contents
- Personally identifiable information (unless you contact us directly)
6. Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set its own cookies for measurement purposes, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Third-Party Services
BestJson.Tools is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP address, request metadata) as part of its infrastructure. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
8. Children's Privacy
BestJson.Tools does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The service is intended for developer and general audiences.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of BestJson.Tools after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
